All About Alligator Clips

Alligator clips are a key thing to have when styling hair. They are a great way to assist in styling or keeping your hair back without creasing it.

There are two types of alligator clips. The first type is the traditional curved plastic one that hairstylists usually use when cutting hair. When I need my hair out of my face when I am doing my makeup or sectioning it to style, this is the one I use. It has great grip on the hair with an easy removal no matter how you have the hair clipped in.

The second type is the metal alligator clip. It is a flat metal clip. Unlike the original plastic alligator clip, I have found certain companies are better than others. The best ones I have found are the Kitsch alligator clips. They do not crease the hair and have a smooth removal. These types of clips are great for pinning up curls due to their slim making. I have used them to pin all types of curls with and without rollers. Any brand is perfectly fine to get.

Some of the metal ones do come with a flat piece of plastic attached to them. These alligator clips are usually on the smaller size and are specifically meant to prevent creases when pulling your hair back. These are typically used by makeup artists to keep styled hair out of the way. But, they are also great to set styled bangs of any length.
