Great Tools For a Faux Blowout

Getting a blow out is not an easy task! I get sweaty and my arms are exhausted by the end of styling!

On days where I don’t have the time or energy, but want a classic blowout look, I have two tools that I am able to use to mimic the style.

A classic 1 1/4 inch barrel curling iron is my favorite tool to use for this. I find this size keeps the curls and gives me nice volume. Even when it falls there is still a nice bend to the hair. A 1 1/2 inch barrel I found my hair to fall too quickly, and anything smaller than a 1 1/4 inch turns into a regular curl.

The key to this technique is curling your hair horizontally, alternating the direction you do the curls. This prevents the curls from clumping.

The other tool I use is the InStyler. It is an old tool that has never failed me. I use it in the same size as the curling iron, but any size does work with this tool.

The difference between the two techniques depends on the style you are trying to achieve. The curling iron method results in a more voluminous, "traditional" blowout. The InStyler is great if you are looking for straighter look, focusing more on the ends.

Both methods are great! It just depends on the style you are going for!
