Curly Hair Routine

It has been a while since I posted...but I am back! For the first post back in a long time, I will be giving an easy curly hair routine for the summer.

This routine starts before washing the hair first. Using my favorite hair mask, the Eva NYC Therapy Session Deep Conditioning Mask, I will lather it on my whole head and let it sit for about 20 minutes. If you have finer or thinner hair, 5-10 minutes is more than enough.

I will then wash it out with my normal shampoo, following-up with my regular leave in conditioner and hair oil. Those products can be found in my previous posts under "Hair". I will then squeeze out any excess water with my towel until it is not dripping. Having freshly wet hair is best as it helps decrease frizz and increases longevity. Using a paddle brush, I will then brush through my hair.

The only curling product I use is hair mousse. Depending on my mood, will depend on what hair mousse I use.

If i am looking for something easy to through in my hair, I will use my tried and true Hairitage Curl Enhancing Foam.

If I am looking for a mousse that will make my hair bullet proof and give volume, I will use my Stockholm Sweden REF Fiber Mousse. The fibers are what help keep everything in place and give my hair great volume.

For the Hairitage one, pump a few pumps in the palm of you hand. With the REF one, squirt a small amount to the palm of your hand. BUT, be careful with the REF mousse as it expands. Use less than you think.

Rub both products in your hand and rub between your fingers as you were applying lotion. (It sounds weird, but when it applying the product throughout your hair, it disperses it MUCH more evenly.) Put a little through the roots, comb through the rest throughout hair until their is no more product in your hair. Go back to the roots and rub the product we placed in the beginning. Rubbing in the roots last prevents too much product from going to the roots and leaving a weird film on top.

Lastly, scrunch until you can't anymore and let your hair air dry! The less you touch while it is drying the better.

To refresh the following days, rewet your hair with a spray bottle and rescrunch!
