No hate to Cetaphil, but I haven’t used it in months! Thanks to a gift I got during a Christmas gift exchange, it started my love for La Roche Posay.
After using the new skincare for four months, I finally feel my acne is under control, and when I break out, I can control it much more easily. My skincare routine is also really simple.
The line of products I use from La Roche Posay is the Effaclar line, which is a product line that caters to oily and acne-prone skin. I start by double-washing my face with the Effaclar Purifying Foaming Gel. After letting my face dry, I use the Effaclar Clarifying Solution Acne Toner on a cotton ball. I do this in the morning and night.
The key to using these products is to work your way up to using them twice a day. Since they are for acne treatment, they are stronger products. I started double-cleansing my face only at night and only using the acne treatment at night. Once my skin got used to it, I was able to use it both morning and night.
In the morning, after washing and toning my face, I sometimes follow up with a lightweight moisturizer depending on the weather. I find on humid days I can’t. Either way, I always follow up with sunscreen. The one I have loved for months has been the Anthelios Ultra Light Fluid Face Sunscreen SPF 60.
At night, I end with a lightweight moisturizer. I am not picky with my moisturizer, so I switch on and off between a bunch of them. If I am breaking out, I put on the Hero Pimple Patches. If the pimple does not have a head, I put on the Micropoint Patches. If the pimple has a head, I use the original acne patches.
