Refreshing dirty hair can be done to a certain point...up until you ACTUALLY need to wash your hair. If your hair is capable of going another day or two without being washed, here is what I do to refresh it.

On oily hair days, for me which is usually day 2-3, I use dry shampoo. My favorite dry shampoo is the EvaNYC one in the yellow aerosol bottle. When applying dry shampoo, make sure you shake the bottle to mix the contents. Section your hair and spray about 6 to 8 inches away from the part. Continue this throughout your head where needed. I keep the dry shampoo at the top of my head otherwise it is too much product. I let the product set for about 2 to 3 minutes, shake my hair, and comb through any product to activate the dry shampoo. If you have any residue left, try to blend in as much as you can. Otherwise, you can use a blow dryer to mix in the rest. I usually use dry shampoo after I style my hair to help shake out the curls and smooth my hair. I then finish off with hairspray or any finishing spray.

If my hair is too far gone for dry shampoo, the blow dryer is going to be your best friend. Apply a light mist of heat protectant and let that settle in. Then blowdry your hair with the blowdryer as normal. If needed, you can apply to the shampoo after this. Make sure you apply the dry shampoo after your hair cools down as the product may clump. This is also a great option to do after a hot day of sweating.
